The ATLAS FILTRI HYDRA BIG RAH 1½” is a professional, high-flow mechanical pre-filter designed to protect water supply systems and water treatment equipment from sand, rust, pipe sediment, and other mechanical particles present in the water.

RAH BIG filtration element – AISI 316 stainless steel
The filter is equipped with an RAH BIG filtration element specifically designed for the HYDRA BIG series.
The filtration medium is a durable AISI 316 stainless steel mesh with a 90 μm filtration rating.
The RAH BIG features a reinforced polypropylene frame designed to handle high water flow rates. The enlarged filtration surface area ensures high dirt-holding capacity and helps maintain a low pressure drop.
The filtration element is washable and reusable.
How does backwashing work? During normal operation, water passes through the RAH BIG filtration mesh, while mechanical particles are trapped on its surface.
To flush the filter, the ball drain valve located at the bottom is opened.
During backwashing, the water flow removes accumulated impurities from the filtration element and discharges them into the drain.
The filter design incorporates backflow protection, which helps ensure a correct and efficient flushing process.
Effective backwashing of the RAH BIG element requires a water flow rate of at least 2 m³/h.

We recommend the HYDRA BIG RAH 1½” as a professional mechanical pre-filtration solution for sites with high water consumption or elevated levels of mechanical impurities.
If only standard mechanical pre-filtration for a private home is required, the standard HYDRA RAH 1″ is usually sufficient, or… 1½”.
However, for applications requiring a large filtration surface area, higher dirt-holding capacity, and a flow rate of up to 15 m³/h, the HYDRA BIG RAH 1½” is a much more suitable solution.
