Ion exchange resins lose their capacity over time as they consume sodium ions. To restore the functions of the softener, regeneration is carried out. The high-hardness water is then flushed down the drain, and the sodium-enriched resin becomes ready for use again.
Advantages of using table salt compared to regular salt:

for the same amount of regular table salt. Due to this, its consumption is approximately 30% lower.
