ATLAS FILTRI HYDRA RAH 1½” is a professional self-cleaning mechanical filter designed for pre-filtration of incoming water and protection of water-supply systems against suspended mechanical contaminants.
The RAH filtration element features a durable reusable stainless-steel mesh with a filtration rating of 90 μm.
It captures sand, rust, scale, pipe deposits and other solid particles present in the incoming water before they reach plumbing fixtures or downstream water-treatment equipment.
Effective mechanical pre-filtration is particularly important in professional and higher-capacity water-treatment installations.
Mechanical particles may enter control valves, distribution systems and filtration media, potentially affecting the performance and service life of downstream equipment.
HYDRA provides an effective first protection stage for the complete water-treatment system.
It can be installed upstream of water softeners, iron-removal filters, Ecomix systems, UV disinfection units, reverse-osmosis systems and other water-treatment equipment.
Self-Cleaning Backwash System
One of the key advantages of the ATLAS HYDRA series is the ability to clean the filtration element without regular replacement.
During operation, suspended mechanical particles are collected on the surface of the stainless-steel filtration mesh.
To clean the filter, the drain valve located at the bottom of the housing is opened. The flushing water helps remove accumulated contaminants from the filtration element and discharge them through the drain outlet.
Regular flushing helps maintain the hydraulic performance of the filter and limits the increase in pressure loss caused by accumulated contaminants.
For convenient operation, the flushing outlet can be permanently connected to a suitable drain system.
High Flow Capacity – up to 10 m³/h
The HYDRA RAH 1½” version is intended for installations requiring higher water-flow capacity.
Its 1½” connection and maximum flow rate of up to 10 m³/h make it suitable for larger residential and professional water-treatment installations without unnecessarily reducing the pipe diameter at the mechanical pre-filtration stage.
This is particularly important in properties with several simultaneous water users and systems designed for high peak water demand.

CENTAVR Recommendation
We recommend the HYDRA RAH 1½” for installations where maintaining a high water-flow capacity is important, including large private houses, commercial properties and professional water-treatment systems.
When the main water line and downstream treatment equipment are designed with 1½” connections, using a mechanical pre-filter with the same connection size helps avoid unnecessary pipe restriction and additional hydraulic resistance.
