The certification of Ecosoft products
The purpose of certification according to NSF/ANSI standards (weather potable water is safe and drinkable for the public) is to ensure constant product and production quality that meets strict quality criteria. It also gives consumer the confidence in the quality of the product he buys. In 2018, the company “Ekosoft” began the certification procedure for household reverse osmosis systems according to the NSF / ANSI 58 standard (standard for water treatment systems).
How are water filters certified?
NSF (The National Sanitation Foundation) standards for water treatment systems are based on expert data in the fields of health care, industry and science. The certification program consists of large product testing and production inspection in order to provide the consumer with guarantee of used material and declared characteristic compliance to the high requirements of the standards.
What quality indicators does the NSF standard consider?
Each of the NSF (The National Sanitation Foundation) standards for specific types of products sets strict health requirements and performance criteria. Pollution reduction norms can be certified for each standard and vary depending on the capabilities of each cleaning technology. Systems that use more than one processing technology may be certified to multiple standards. In order to receive NSF certification, a water treatment system is tested for more than just its ability to filter pollutants.
It also must follow certain criteria:
- The manufacturer’s declared pollutant reduction characteristics must be tested and confirmed by WQA (The Water Quality Association) laboratories;
- The system should not add any harmful substances to the water, so the materials that come into contact with the water need to pass additional tests in international laboratories;
- The system must have a functional structural design and must be designed to meet water supply conditions, for example, pressure fluctuations;
- Advertising information, literature references and labels should not contain errors or false information;
- The production process and the materials used should not be changed during the time between inspections, which are carried out at least once a year.
The certification of Ecosoft products
In 2015, the company “Ekosoft” according to NSF/ANSI 44/61/372 standards (the standards for certifying low-lead content in plumbing products and components used in potable water systems) certified the production of its own Ecomix complex action filters, located in Germany. The certification authority was The Water Quality Association (WQA). In March 2018, the certification process of Ecomix production started in Ukraine, the company successfully passed the audit. At the same time, domestic reverse osmosis systems were submitted for WQA certification according to the NSF/ANSI 58 standard. Product certification consist of 2 stages- production audit by an expert from the USA and product testing by a WQA certified laboratory.
The mark of quality “WQA Gold seal”
On March 13, 2018- the company successfully passed the audit of the production of household reverse osmosis systems. The purpose of the audit was to confirm the company’s ability to produce quality products. The first stage of the audit was the inspection of materials and components. During the process they find out that most of the components used in the systems are already certified according to NSF standards.
The next stage was to confirm that the products meet all the requirements. In the company “Ekosoft” not only 100% quality control of systems for tightness is implemented, but also intermediate control quality for the correctness of assembly and appearance.
In the last stage of the audit were evaluated the company’s ability to correctly ship products from the warehouse. Not only the design of the packaging is important, but also the correct labeling and the presence of accompanying documents.
According to the results of the audit, the company “Ekosoft” successfully passed all stages of certification and received the mark of quality “WQA Gold seal”.

“Golden seal” is a guarantee of high quality of water purification products. Consumers easily are able to identify WQA approved products by the gold seal on the packaging.
