Manganese Greensand Plus is a synthetic filter material obtained from the mineral glauconite, coated with a special layer containing manganese dioxide MnO2 which is able to oxidize ferrous iron, manganese as well as hydrogen sulfide in the water.

Description

Manganese Greensand Plus filtering material oxidizes hydrogen sulfide to molecular sulfur. The filter layer retains the formed deposits and they are removed during rinsing.
To restore the oxidizing power of Manganese Greensand Plus, it must be renewed with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Intensive washing of the filter is recommended to be done in a timely manner (without waiting for complete exhaustion of the oxidizing capacity), as well as before commissioning. Delays in regeneration will shorten the life of Manganese Greensand Plus.
Manganese Greensand Plus can be operated in both batch and continuous regeneration schemes to restore oxidative capacity.
